And so it begins once again, the first Monday in May. The Met Gala at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art comes around once a year and is a chance to celebrate the best of what the fashion industry offers in terms of costume, design, style and art. This year's theme? Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty, in homage to the legendary visionary that sadly passed away in 2019, and was the creative director for several brands during his lifetime including his own line Karl Lagerfeld, Fendi, Balmain, Fendi and of course Chanel.
The looks? A perfect homage to Lagerfeld. A VAST improvement on last year's theme (let's be honest, the memo must have been missed for 2022's Met Gala. From Dua Lipa in Chanel couture from the brand's 1992 Fall/Winter show to Rihanna’s late appearance with ASAP Rocky, Jared Leto in a literal cat costume to Lil Nas X bedazzled in head-to-toe diamonds, oh, and of course, Jeremy Pope wearing a train with Karl's face on it (we live), the invitees served tonight and we honestly could not get enough.
