July 2013: TREND Report: Autumn/Winter 2013-14

One of the great things about fashion is that it always changes, and there's always something fresh about it. Whether it's new TRENDS, a new up and coming designer, the opening of a new high street store or a new fashion magazine spiraling new ideas and fresh themes for it's monthly limelight, a new season is always so exciting! And so we begin  to look at a new and fresh take on those ideas from the fabulous designers that send those fabulous new designs down the catwalks for us to admire over. And so here it is, five TRENDS to look out for in Autumn/Winter 2013, and that I'm lusting over already!

Boy Meets Girl

The Revival Of The Rebel

Be rebelious with this TREND, It's all about the punk look. Think tartans and leather, blacks and reds, whips and chains, there's nothing girly about it. Check out designers Moschino, Versace and Fendi for inspiration.

                  Spotlight On The Skirt

This seasons key piece is the skirt. It's longer, it's flared, it's pleated, it's however you want it to be, but requires a slight rethink of your shoe department in your wardrobe. Make a statement with your looks and give it lots of love and attention. Look to designers Celine, Prada and Jil Sander for inspiration.

The Rise Of The Oversize Coat

Now I know size doesn't usually matter, but in this case, the bigger, the better! Texture it, colour it, make it stand out and a statement piece, because your coat is the ultimate statement piece for Autumn/Winter 2013. Look to designers Peter Pilotto, Stella McCartney and Max Mara for inspiration.

                                          Furtastic

Fur here, fur there, fur EVERYWHERE, and it makes its comeback in it's rightful home of Autumn/Winter, and what a fabulous statement piece it is. Wear it everywhere, on your collar, on your cuff, on your head all at once if you're daring (just make sure it's faux). Look to designers Alexander Wang, Fendi and Roberto Cavalli for inspiration.
