August 2012: Move Over Mr. Grey, Mr. Big Is In Town

So recently there has been a lot of controversy around a mysterious book, a mysterious man and a mysterious story surrounding the one thing in every human beings life that can be mysterious, wonderful, fun, scary And pleasurable, sometimes all at the same time. Sex. And I'm talking of course about Fifty Shades Of Grey and it's leading man Mr. Grey, but in the Words of Carrie Bradshaw 'I can't help but wonder' . . is the book really all it's cracked up to be?

I haven't actually read the book myself, but then again the amount of times I've heard it quoted, mentioned or spoken about, I haven't really needed to, my friends are OBSESSED (and yes the capitalisation is required because my friends really are) with the book and take it everywhere they go, in Starbucks, in work, and oh yes, they also read it in bed at night with them. But the main reason I haven't read it, is because I like a good storyline to a book which apparently the book hasn't got, just like a film or a play I mean could you imagine Harry Potter or The Hunger Games without a good storyline and how about Harry or Peeta as the mysterious 'Mr. Grey' NO, of course not!

So now I turn to Sex And The City and Mr. Big, you all know him, he's the tall, dark handsome stud, always wears a suit and we never knew his name until the last ever episode (it's John in-case you're wondering) now of course the series and the book were mostly about sex, hence the title, but not to forget the city of course, oh and there's the four fabulous girls and the fashion and the coffee and the cosmo's (am I rambling a bit?) but I think the moral of the story is and also again in the words of Carrie Bradshaw (I can't help but wonder) . . should you really Judge a book by it's cover?
